Cincinnati unfortunately finds itself in a “perfect storm” of challenging driving conditions. The city is undeniably hilly, as the legacy of glacial paths has left us a jagged terrain of ridges, steep drop offs, and terraces. Add the city’s snowy, icy winters to that equation, and you find a city that can be treacherous to traverse in the winter months.
Like any Cincinnati snow removal company, Tree Images and its employees must confront those icy inclines and snowy slopes every year to help keep Cincinnati residents safe. We are out there with you, in our snow chains, slowly making our way through the slush and patches of black ice to help improve road, sidewalk, and driveway conditions wherever we can. And, having driven in other cities with less inclement weather and flatter streets, we must say: Cincinnatians are pretty darn competent drivers.
In fact, we’ll go a step further than that: Cincinnatians are uniquely skilled drivers. The ability of Cincinnati drivers to avoid catastrophic collisions on those hills is impressive in the face of our often intensely adverse conditions.
So, before the next heavy winter storm brings out the snowplows, let us take a moment to appreciate the thousand-yard stares and hair-trigger reflexes of Cincinnati’s snow drivers. It is no easy feat to navigate Ravine Street or Monastery Street when it is in need of salt and shovels.
Compare this with, say, northern California drivers, who are notoriously fearful after a rainfall, or with the tailgating aggro-motorists of the Eastern seaboard. Cincinnatians’ Midwestern disposition tends to keep us level-headed in moments of adversity, and cautious when the surfaces are slick. We’re doing a great job against a particularly tough challenge.
Friends and neighbors, we wish you luck climbing those Mt. Adams hills. We will see you out there doing your best to slide down Mt. Lookout, and Mt. Healthy, and Mt. Auburn. May the slopes of College Hill, Price Hill, Indian Hill, and Walnut Hills be kind to your snow tires, and may your brakes never lock up on a skid.
If you ever need your snow shoveled, or your driveway, sidewalks or parking lot cleared of snow during our Cincinnati winters, we at Tree Images are ready to pull on our fur-lined gloves, zip up our heaviest parkas, slide on our earmuffs, slip on our wool caps, and assist you. 513-528-4167 is our number, and our boots are dried off and ready for action.
