Working at a tree service in Cincinnati, we see a wide swath of flora and fauna. We see deer, possums, chipmunks, and all types of wild animals. Over in Iowa, they see a lot of that as well.
KWQC-TV in Anamosa, Iowa shared this lovable pair of videos recently. While clearing a large pile of brush, the workers from Cy’s Tree Service came across a raccoon that was stuck in the pile, unable to pull itself out of the debris.
Thankfully, the workers thought to take out their camera-phones, and the moment was captured for all of us to enjoy.
The workers got their shovels out and dug the raccoon a pathway to safety. Company owner Cy Frommelt thinks the raccoon dug a hole in the accumulating pile, and then the hole collapsed on itself, trapping him.
Also on video from Cy’s Tree Service is an owl that the workers rescued when in the midst of their landscaping work. The owl, as it turns out, enjoyed being petted like a cat.
We arborists are thankful to be working in nature, and we are happy to share some of these moments with you, whenever we can. As a tree service company, we consider that to be part of our mission.
