Running a Tree Cutting Service in Cincinnati, and Dealing With Those Hills

One of the fun challenges of working around Cincinnati in a tree cutting service is dealing with all the slopes. Cincinnati, as we all know, is hilly. The city of the Seven Hills! And while there is some dispute as to which hills comprise the official “Seven” — we’ve heard Mt. Auburn, Mt. Adams, Walnut Hills, Price Hill, College Hill, Vine Street Hill, and Fairmount — the city has many more steep inclines. Madeira and Indian Hill have crazy steep inclines all over, as does Montgomery in certain parts. Why is this challenging for a tree cutter? Well, these trees grow into the slopes. Root systems can ascend a hill, much like a multi-level house whose foundation is built into a slope. We’ve dealt with enough of these trees that we understand those angles, but it is a careful dance we do when trees are growing on steep hills.
